Honoring Ms. Georgette Alexander Principal at Rutledge Middle School for National School Leaders Month
This week for National School Leaders Month we would like to recognize Ms. Georgette Alexander, currently serving as the Principal at Rutledge Middle School. Ms. Alexander is a product of the Birmingham City School System and a proud alumnus of Wenonah High School. Ms. Alexander furthered her education from a host of Universities such as Lawson State Community College, Miles College, Alabama State University, and The University of West Alabama making her an extremely diverse educator. She received her undergraduate degrees in Business Administrative and Accounting. Later obtained dual masters in Mathematics Education and instructional leadership. Currently, Ms. Alexander is in the process of obtaining her EDs(Educational Specialist Degree) in Instructional Leadership. She has one son who is 10 years old. Ms. Alexander started her teaching career in the Birmingham Public School system and has been an educator for thirteen years. Since joining the Midfield family Ms. Alexander has taught 6th grade, 8th grade, and high school mathematics. She has also been the 21st Century Director, Mathematics Department Chair, Summer Enrichment Administrator, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and currently serves as The Principal of Rutledge Middle School. It has been her pleasure to serve on many committees and serve the students of Midfield through being The Beta Club sponsor, Senior Class Advisor, and so much more. “Be Who You NEEDED When You Were YOUNGER”. I believe every adult either an educator or not should live by this.
